Recovery begins by understanding your individual needs. Some people benefit from medically supervised drug detox before moving into residential treatment, while others continue through outpatient care and long-term recovery support.
Our Sonoma County fentanyl addiction treatment program gives adults a safe and supportive place to begin recovery while stepping away from the pressures and triggers of everyday life. Throughout every stage, you’ll receive compassionate guidance, practical recovery education, respectful counseling, and structured care from an experienced team that has helped people rebuild their lives since 1949.

How Fentanyl Addiction Develops
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that may be prescribed for severe pain, but illegally manufactured fentanyl is also widely found in the drug supply. It is frequently mixed into counterfeit pills and other drugs, sometimes without a person’s knowledge. Because fentanyl is extremely potent, dependence can develop quickly, and stopping without professional support may lead to difficult withdrawal symptoms.
Over time, fentanyl addiction can affect your health, relationships, work, finances, and emotional well-being. Many people find themselves using more often simply to avoid withdrawal rather than to feel its effects. Although it may seem difficult to imagine life without fentanyl, recovery is possible. With medically supported detox, structured treatment, and ongoing support, you can begin building a healthier future one step at a time.

FAQ: Sonoma County Fentanyl Addiction Treatment
Many people have questions before reaching out for help with fentanyl addiction. Here are answers to some of the concerns we hear most often from individuals and families considering treatment.
Why is fentanyl addiction so difficult to overcome alone?
Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that can cause physical dependence in a short period of time. Many people continue using because they fear withdrawal symptoms or feel unable to stop on their own. Professional treatment provides medical support when needed, along with counseling, education, and a structured environment that helps you focus on recovery instead of daily triggers.
Will I need drug detox before entering treatment?
Not everyone begins treatment the same way. If fentanyl withdrawal is a concern, your assessment will help determine whether medically supported drug detox should be your first step. When detox is appropriate, it helps you withdraw safely before moving into the next phase of your recovery program.
What happens after fentanyl detox is complete?
Detox is the beginning of recovery, not the end of it. After withdrawal is safely managed, many clients continue into residential treatment where they develop recovery skills, participate in counseling, and begin preparing for life without fentanyl. Ongoing care helps build a stronger foundation for lasting recovery.
Can my family support me during treatment?
Yes. Addiction affects more than one person, which is why we encourage family involvement whenever appropriate. Our Family Program offers education, confidential group sessions, and counseling that help loved ones better understand addiction while learning healthy ways to support recovery.

“Mountain Vista Farm is the oldest rehab in California dating back to 1949. A beautiful country setting with old buildings and a feeling of summer camp. The staff are very warm and welcoming, always there for a hug or a listening ear. The food is top notch! Salmon, steaks, gyros, chicken and loads of salad (green and fruit) at every lunch/dinner. Also, plenty of healthy snacks 24 hours a day. Most insurances cover the costs and they will work with you if private pay is necessary. I give it 5 stars.”
