FAQ: Santa Rosa Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Rehab
Choosing addiction treatment is an important decision, and it’s natural to have questions before getting started. Here are answers to some of the questions people often ask about our outpatient treatment services.
Who can participate in the outpatient program?
Our outpatient program is designed for adults 18 and older who are seeking treatment for alcohol or drug addiction. Before treatment begins, you’ll complete a confidential assessment with our admissions team. This conversation helps us understand your situation and determine whether outpatient care is the most appropriate option for your recovery. We take an individualized approach so you receive the level of support that best fits your needs and long-term goals.
How do I know if outpatient treatment is right for me?
The right level of care depends on your individual circumstances. During your assessment, we’ll learn about your substance use history, recovery goals, daily responsibilities, and support system. Outpatient treatment can be a good option for people who are able to live at home while participating in structured counseling and recovery services. Our team will help you understand your options and recommend the care that best supports your recovery.
Does Mountain Vista Farm treat both alcohol and drug addiction?
Yes. Mountain Vista Farm provides treatment for adults experiencing alcohol addiction as well as addiction to other drugs. Our programs combine counseling, education, and practical recovery skills to help you understand addiction and build a healthier future. Every treatment plan is personalized because recovery is different for every individual who walks through our doors.
Can my family be involved in treatment?
Yes. Recovery often becomes stronger when family members have the opportunity to learn and heal together. Our Family Program includes educational presentations, confidential process groups, and family counseling sessions that help loved ones better understand addiction and learn healthy ways to support recovery. Many families find that participating together improves communication and strengthens relationships throughout the recovery journey.
What happens after I complete outpatient treatment?
Recovery continues long after formal treatment ends. Clients who complete outpatient or residential treatment are eligible to participate in Mountain Vista Farm’s Continuing Care groups for up to two years. These groups provide ongoing encouragement, reinforce recovery skills, and help you stay connected with a supportive recovery community as you continue moving forward.
Does Mountain Vista Farm accept insurance?
Mountain Vista Farm believes addiction treatment should be as accessible as possible. Our admissions team can help you verify your insurance benefits, explain available payment options, and answer questions about the admissions process. If you do not have insurance, we’ll also discuss the options available to help you begin treatment.
How do I get started?
Taking the first step begins with a confidential conversation. You can contact our admissions team to ask questions, discuss your situation, and schedule an assessment. Whether you are reaching out for yourself or someone you care about, we’ll guide you through the admissions process and help you understand the next steps toward recovery.

“Mountain Vista Farm is the oldest rehab in California dating back to 1949. A beautiful country setting with old buildings and a feeling of summer camp. The staff are very warm and welcoming, always there for a hug or a listening ear. The food is top notch! Salmon, steaks, gyros, chicken and loads of salad (green and fruit) at every lunch/dinner. Also, plenty of healthy snacks 24 hours a day. Most insurances cover the costs and they will work with you if private pay is necessary. I give it 5 stars.”
